Special LSVT LOUD Certification Renewal for Previously Certified LSVT LOUD Clinicians!

Course Description:

This two hour course entitled “Advances in the Science and Practice of LSVT LOUD: Renewal Update” will be offered to previously trained LSVT LOUD clinicians.  The first part of this update will highlight new scientific research including a new randomized controlled trial. This will include a description of our primary outcome variable and the impact of two comparative treatments on speech intelligibility.  Further a discussion of how LSVT LOUD may be applied to other neurological disorders including research outcome data in select populations will be discussed. The second part of this update will review the LSVT LOUD exercises, teaching techniques, and implementation of calibration. This will be followed by a review of the research and practice of technology enhanced delivery of LSVT LOUD. Finally, future directions and resources for LSVT LOUD clinicians will be explained.

 

Advances in the Science and Practice of LSVT LOUD: Renewal Update

Learning Outcomes:

Upon conclusion of this course, speech-language pathology participants will be able to:

Online Certification Renewal Faculty:

Lorraine Olson Ramig, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
Dr. Ramig received her doctoral degree at Purdue University and master’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in communication disorders. Dr. Ramig is a Professor in the Department of Speech-Language and Hearing Science at the University of Colorado-Boulder, a Senior Scientist at the National Center for Voice and Speech (NCVS), a division of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA), located in Denver, Colorado, and an adjunct professor at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and Columbia Teacher’s College in New York City. Dr. Ramig is an internationally recognized scientist with an established research record in the areas of aged and neurological voice disorders. She has been investigating neurological voice disorders for over 20 years and has authored numerous refereed journal articles and book chapters.

Cynthia Fox, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
Dr. Fox received her doctorate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Arizona, Tucson.  Dr. Fox is a research associate at the National Center for Voice and Speech and Co-Founder of LSVT Global.  Dr. Fox is among the world’s experts in speech treatment for people with Parkinson disease.  She has multiple publications in this area of focus, as well as numerous national and international research and clinical presentations.  Dr. Fox has worked closely with Dr. Ramig for the past 15 years on studies examining the efficacy of LSVT® LOUD, the underlying mechanisms of speech disorders in Parkinson disease, and the application of LSVT LOUDTM to other disorders (children and adults) and other motor systems (e.g., limb).

$50.00 LSVT LOUD Workshop - Renewal Webinar

Participant Cancellation Policy: In the event that a participant cancels registration or does not attend, tuition will be refunded minus the following cancellation fees:

  • $50.00 cancellation fee 4 weeks prior to workshop date
  • $100.00 cancellation fee 2 weeks prior to workshop date
  • $250.00 cancellation fee within 2 weeks of workshop date or anytime thereafter

Participant Attendance Policy: Participation at the entire workshop is MANDATORY. Participants who arrive late or miss any portion of the workshop will NOT be eligible for certification or a refund of any costs incurred. Plan your travel arrangements accordingly. Complete a Certification Exam with an 85% score required to receive certification. The exam will be administered during the two-day training course. Retakes of the examination are possible after the course via an online site for a re-take fee.
